Over consumption in North America

The other night I was sitting in a restaurant with my sister and one of my closest friends, Brianna. While I sit there and listen to my sis talk about how Oprah had an abortion when she was around 14 and how she can't understand how people could ever abort a child, I couldn't help but think that while my day passed, and I sit there complaining in my head about how long this meal is taking, 25,000 children around the world have died of starvation...so who is really the murderer in this conversation? The problem in the world today isn't that we don't have enough food; the problem is that greedy people want much more than what they need. I'm no angel to this. Last week I threw out a ton of food that I didn't use and do all the time. We can't change the things we've done, but we can change the things we do. It's about time we pulled our heads out of the sand and started a revolution in our minds that spilled out into our actions.

Forgive us father, for we know not what we do
